Frequently Asked Questions
At Rivera OBGYN, we understand that navigating women’s health can bring up a lot of questions. Whether you’re preparing for your first visit, exploring hormone therapy, or looking for guidance on pregnancy, our goal is to provide clear answers and trusted care.
General Patient Questions
I chose not to accept insurance because I wanted to practice medicine in a way that prioritizes time, accessibility, and truly individualized care. Traditional insurance-based models often require physicians to see a very high volume of patients each day in order to meet the financial demands of the practice. That structure can limit the amount of time available for thoughtful, comprehensive care and meaningful physician-patient relationships.
My concierge model allows me to spend approximately one hour with each new patient and 20–30 minutes at follow-up visits. This gives us the opportunity to address not only immediate concerns, but also the broader picture of health, wellness, prevention, and long-term goals. Whether caring for complex prenatal patients, supporting women through perimenopause and menopause, or helping patients achieve sustainable weight management, I believe the best outcomes come from a whole-person approach and continuity of care.
Patients also have direct access to me 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including evenings and weekends. I am able to provide a level of responsiveness and personal attention that is difficult to achieve in a traditional insurance-based practice.
Although I do not bill insurance for office visits, patients can still use their insurance benefits for laboratory testing, imaging studies, medications, and referrals when applicable.
